Enter Report Here Well Summer just does not seem to want to start for us. With below normal air temps that is keeping the water temps hovering in the upper 50s to low 60s. Musky opened Memorial weekend and from the reports I heard, it was tough. Some small fish reported taking small bucktails and crankbaits. Try using Rizzo Wiz, Mepps #5, or Rapala Husky jerks. Lots of fish seen cruising the shallows, but reluctant to strike. The muskies wont really start moving until we get a good warming trend. But when it does, look out! Lately my trips have been Walleye fishing, which has been very good. The fish are moving out of their spawning areas and are starting to relate to wood and new weed growth in 5-15 ft of water. 1/16 ounce jigs and fatheads have been the ticket. Although on some days I anchor and slip bobbers and fatheads are taking fish. As the water warms, don\'t be afraid to try crawlers and leeches. That time is coming soon. Crappies are on their spawning beds right now, and the bluegills are soon to follow. Lots of fun sight fishing crappies on the beds. Good eating too!! Smallmouth are staging and getting ready to come in to spawn. Like I said, all we need is a good warming trend and things will really start rolling. Until then, the walleye fishing has been great! Good luck to all! Hope to have you in my boat sometime! Rip some lips! Tom Whitman
