Fishing Report Archives Fishing report 7-20-08 Sunday July 20, 2008 Enter Report Here Hot humid days and warm nights have really warmed up our lakes. Surface temps are hovering between 72-75 degrees, depending on which lake you are on. Walleye fishing has slowed quite a bit with the hot weather, which also brings heavy boat traffic. Some success has been had though fishing jigs and leeches or crawlers on the deep weed edges in 15-22 feet. Fishing early and late in the day has also been the way to go. Some fish also showing on rock bars at the same depths. The good news has been the musky fishing. These fish really turned on over the last few weeks. Bucktails, topwaters, and swimbaits have all been producing fish. The fish are showing mostly on the deep weed edges. But some fish are starting to go into their Summer pattern and suspend over deep water near rock bars. Smallmouth Bass have been extremely active. Most baits and presentations are working. Fish are holding near rocks and logs in 8-15 feet of water. Try tubes and plastics. Some fish taking topwater early in the morning. |
